Message from the President

Cindy King, 2022-2023 President

Hello Optimists,

I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Cindy King and I am happy to say I will be serving as your 2023-24 President. I have served on the Optimist Board of Directors for several years now. My husband Robbie and I joined the Optimist Club of Arlington as coach and team mom back in 2010 when our sons enrolled in the football program. That of course opened the door to be a part of much more. My boys, Rowdy and Ryston, grew up playing Optimist Sports. I am excited to say the opportunity to serve the community and kids has made us a part of the Optimist family.

We at the Optimist Club of Arlington are super excited to be teaming up with MLB, Texas Ranger’s Foundation, and the City of Arlington to bring a new experience to Senter Park.  The three organizations are currently working on the development of updated turf fields.  In addition, our club will be updating our facilities to match the theme of the new fields.  This will include new concession facility, ADA complaint bathrooms and a new meeting space for our club.  We are looking forward to hosting the next generation of baseball players and their families.  We would love your participation in our newest project.  Please visit our Capital Campaign tab on our home page to see how you can be a part of this new adventure that will benefit youth in our community for years to come.

Here are other ways to support our club:

  1. Become a member!   Your membership fees are as little as $12.50 per month when you set up an ACH. Membership benefits our club and you will be included in a quarterly social with Dinner and Drinks with other members. If you want to be more involved, you can attend Board meetings.  We want to hear your ideas! (See Attached Membership Form).
  2. Make a Scholarship Donation! Optimist Club of Arlington is a Non-Profit and depends on sponsors to provide our annual scholarship funds.
  3. Support our Athletic programs! Become a volunteer. You can coach, be a team mom (my personal favorite), help with concessions, or simply just help us supervise.
  4. Support our Community Involvement!   Your help and donations can go to our Christmas Adopt-A-Family project, Easter Egg Hunts, our Respect for Law Program, or our 4th of July Parade.

I hope my introduction has inspired you to become a part of your community. It has been rewarding to me in so many ways. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or suggestions. I will be happy to have that conversation.

Thank you and God Bless!
